White layer — catches larger particles: dust, hair, debris.

Orange tackifier layer — a heavy-duty adhesive that locks in mold spores, allergens, and fine dust on contact.

It's a "non-migrating" tackifier — permanently bonded to the fibers, so it never blows loose into your ductwork. And because it holds dust throughout the full depth of the pad, not just the surface, it holds more before it clogs than a basic pleated filter that loads up on the face and chokes your airflow.

Most Filters Let Air Sneak Right Past Them

Standard filters are manufactured slightly smaller than your duct opening so they're easy to slide in at the hardware store. That intentional gap means a portion of your air never touches the filter at all.

Airflow vs. Filtration

Push filtration too high — the dense, tightly-pleated MERV 11–13 filters sold as "premium" — and you're fighting your own AC. That much resistance restricts airflow, can ice up coils, and strains a blower motor that was never sized for it.

Go too basic, and a filter barely slows anything down — fine dust and allergens sail straight through a bare MERV 8 pleat.

Our media is an open, depth-loading polyester, not a tight paper pleat — it holds dust through the full pad instead of choking on the surface. MERV 9 is where that construction lands: real capture, without the airflow penalty of a denser filter your system wasn't built for.

Depth-Loading vs. Pleated

A pleated filter only collects dust on the face of each fold. Once that surface cakes over, airflow chokes fast — often well before the box's suggested replacement date.

Our media is built the opposite way: dust builds through the full depth of the pad, not just a thin front layer. That's real dust-holding capacity, and it's why airflow doesn't fall off a cliff the way a clogged pleat does.

Same construction principle used in commercial pre-filters that protect expensive equipment — not a marketing gimmick, an actual different way of building the media.

Every Pass Counts

Your AC doesn't filter your air once — it recirculates the same air through that filter dozens of times a day. A particle that slips through on one pass gets caught (or doesn't) on the next, and the next after that.

That's true of any filter. What it means in practice: a filter that's already caked over and choking airflow by week 3 is doing a worse job on pass #40 than one that's still holding up. Consistency over the full life of the filter matters more than a number on day one.

Know When To Swap

Replace your pad every 30–45 days. In Miami's dusty, humid climate, closer to 30 days is better.

Remove The Frame

Slide the aluminum frame out of your AC unit's housing. It comes out as one unit with the used pad still inside.

Swap The Pad

What if I measure wrong and the frame doesn't fit?

Before we build anything, we confirm your measurements with you directly — production doesn't start until you approve them. Because frames are custom-manufactured to your specs, we can't accept returns on sizing errors once confirmed. If you're not confident measuring, Preferred or Full Year includes in-home measurement and a guaranteed fit.

Does it work with my HVAC system?

Yes — the GoodBye Dust system works with any central AC or heat pump that uses a flat panel filter, residential or otherwise. We build your frame to your exact dimensions, so there's no standard size requirement.

Does it work in apartment buildings, offices, or other commercial/high-traffic properties?

Yes. As long as the AC unit uses a standard flat-panel filter slot, we can build it a custom-fit frame — that includes apartment and condo towers, offices, and other commercial spaces, not just single-family homes. Higher foot traffic just means more dust load, so the pad may need changing a bit more often — same swap, just more frequent.
